What's new

v0.7.02026-05-06
Added
  • Multi-step pathways. When your direct visa match is weak but a 2-4 step journey reaches PR (working holiday into employer-sponsored skilled work into permanent residency, for example), Transita now surfaces the chain. Each step shows your eligibility at that point, your projected age when you would transition, and the realistic time elapsed from start.
  • Free-text job/field input on the quiz. Type your role in your own words (Senior platform engineer at fintech, Construction site manager, Wildlife photographer) instead of fitting one of 13 dropdown buckets.
  • Optional final quiz step: tell us anything else about your situation. Partner with EU citizenship, kids in school, current visa expiry, ruled-out countries. The matcher uses these signals to nudge results.
  • Labor market estimates per destination. AU and US for now: sector demand, median salary by sector, source-cited from Bureau of Labor Statistics and Jobs and Skills Australia. Visible in the details expander on each result card.
  • Industry-switch viability badge on every visa. Switch-friendly, moderate, or locked-to-sponsor, derived from the visa category and sponsor flag.
  • Browseable job board at /jobs. Filter open roles at licensed visa-sponsoring employers by country, role, and remote/hybrid/onsite. Available in the Resources menu.
  • Live job suggestions on result cards. For sponsor-required visas in your target countries, the top 3 currently open matched roles surface inline.
  • Pathway showcase on the homepage explaining the multi-step view.
Changed
  • Realistic scoring on points-based visas. Australian SkillSelect (189, 190, 491), Canadian Express Entry (FSW, CEC, FST, all PNP variants), UK Skilled Worker, German Chancenkarte, and Australian 188A all now estimate your likely points against the actual cutoffs. Bachelor plus 3 years experience no longer earns 100% on visas where realistic points would land below the pool threshold. Your score reflects what you would actually score, with explicit notes about factors the quiz cannot capture (English test level, partner skills, occupation list, provincial nomination).
  • Quiz now asks for your age. Used to enforce age caps on working holiday and youth mobility visas (previously these recommended to 45-year-olds with a soft warning), and feeds into points calculations.
  • Pathways and direct matches compete in one ranking. The strongest route to your goal takes the featured slot, whether that is a single visa or a multi-step chain.
Fixed
  • Australian Working Holiday Maker (subclass 417) was being recommended to ineligible nationalities. The eligibility list (UK, Belgian, Canadian, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Cypriot, Estonian, Hong Konger, Irish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Maltese, Norwegian, Swedish, Taiwanese) is now enforced.
  • Australian Work and Holiday (subclass 462) and UK Youth Mobility Scheme were silently filtering out eligible users due to a country-code format mismatch. Americans, Argentinians, Chileans, Indians, Israelis, Japanese, Koreans, New Zealanders, Hong Kongers, Taiwanese, Icelanders, Singaporeans, Slovaks, Slovenians, Brazilians, Spanish, Indonesians, Vietnamese, Thai, Turkish, Austrian, Filipino, Greek, Hungarian, Czech, Polish, Portuguese, Malaysian, Peruvian, Swiss, and Luxembourgish nationals now correctly qualify.
  • Citizenship dropdown extended with 12 origins that were previously missing: New Zealander, Hong Konger, Taiwanese, Cypriot, Maltese, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Icelandic, Slovak, Slovenian, Luxembourgish.
  • Pathway algorithm now forward-projects your age across each step. A 35-year-old planning a 6-year chain is correctly evaluated against age caps that would apply at step 3 (when they are 38), not against age 35 throughout.
v0.6.02026-05-05
Added
  • Three new Australian city deep-dives. Brisbane, Perth, and Gold Coast, all sitting inside the designated regional area for the subclass 491 Skilled Work Regional visa. Major migration advantage over Sydney and Melbourne for skilled migrants who do not score high enough for the 189.
  • Weekly newsletter digest. Branded HTML, cron-driven (Mondays 09:00 UTC), pulls the last 7 days of news posts. One-click unsubscribe support via Gmail and Yahoo.
  • Self-serve /unsubscribe page so you can leave the list whenever, no email-Senne required.
v0.5.02026-05-04
