Highly Skilled Migrant
The Netherlands' fastest skilled-migration route. Any role at a recognised IND sponsor meeting the salary threshold qualifies. IND processes in 2–4 weeks. The 30%/30/20/10 ruling applies for qualifying foreign hires.
Startup Visa
1-year founder permit working with a recognised Dutch facilitator (incubator/accelerator). Convert to self-employed permit after year 1 if revenue and innovation criteria are met.
EU Blue Card (Netherlands)
Standard EU Blue Card processed by the Netherlands. Higher salary threshold than HSM but offers EU-wide intra-mobility after 12 months in NL.
Researcher under Directive (EU)
Residence permit for researchers under EU Directive 2016/801. Sponsoring institution must be recognized by the IND. No salary threshold (lower than HSM). Path to PR after 5 years.
