As a Romanian citizen, you have full freedom of movement to Ireland under EU treaty rights (Directive 2004/38/EC). You can move whenever you like, work from day one, and your family members are also eligible.

The only steps: register with the local town hall (gemeente / padrón / Anmeldung) within the first weeks of arrival, get a local tax/social-security number, and open a bank account. Permanent residency in 5 years; citizenship eligible after 5 years.
