Best Cities for Digital Nomads

A for digital nomads in 2025 weighs different signals than a generic city ranking would. We blend the same 10 dimensions we use across /rankings, but with weights tuned for this audience. The biggest contributors:

• English-friendly: 25% weight. How far you can get day-to-day on English alone.
• Tech jobs: 18% weight. Density of tech employers, average tech salary, FAANG and unicorn presence, and growth trend.
• Expat community: 15% weight. Established expat infrastructure: meetups, services, schools, and shared experience.
• Transit: 12% weight. Public transit coverage, frequency, and how livable the city is car-free.

Each city dimension is itself a hand-set editorial score from public sources (Numbeo, national stats, on-the-ground review). The composite is a weighted blend with weights specific to countries for digital nomads in 2025.
