Can I Move to Singapore as a Digital Nomad? What Exists in 2026

People search for a Singapore nomad visa because the city works so well for remote work. There is no such visa, and the passes that come closest are built for a different kind of applicant.

By Senne Bels··Updated 17 October 2026

Short answer: Not on a dedicated visa

Singapore has no digital nomad or remote-work visa in our database. The passes that let you live there without one employer are the Overseas Networks & Expertise Pass and the Personalised Employment Pass, and both need salaries far above most nomad incomes. If you work remotely for a company abroad, Thailand, the UAE or Spain have visas built for that.

The programmes that apply to digital nomads in Singapore

Fees, salary floors and processing times below come from the official sources in Transita's visa database. Processing is an estimate from the published figure, not a promise.

Overseas Networks & Expertise Pass$254SGD 30,000/mo (≈ $281,592/yr)1–2 monthsNo2 years
Personalised Employment Pass$254SGD 22,500/mo (≈ $211,194/yr)1–2 monthsNo2 years
EntrePass$254None set1–2 monthsNo2 years
Work Holiday Pass$135None set0–1 monthsNoNo direct route

Overseas Networks & Expertise Pass headline floor: fixed monthly salary from a single employer for the 12 months before applying; an achievements route waives the salary bar entirely.

Personalised Employment Pass headline floor: fixed monthly salary to apply; the pass is kept only while fixed salary stays at or above S$270,000 per calendar year.

  • Overseas Networks & Expertise Pass: The closest thing to a flexible pass: you can work for several companies at once. It is aimed at top talent, so a typical freelancer will not qualify.
  • Personalised Employment Pass: Not tied to one employer, but it is still a pass for working in Singapore, at a very high salary floor.
  • EntrePass: For founders starting a venture-backed or innovative tech business in Singapore. Remote freelancing does not count.
  • Work Holiday Pass: Short, and only for students and recent graduates of eligible universities from a limited list of countries, within an age band.

Why none of the passes fits a typical nomad

Working for an overseas employer from Singapore for months is the arrangement a nomad visa exists to cover, and Singapore has not created one. The passes above all assume either a very high income, a business in Singapore or a short work holiday, which is why none of them fits the usual nomad profile.

If you are young and a student or graduate

The Work Holiday Pass costs $135, is decided in about 0–1 months and lasts 6 months. It is the one short-term option many people overlook, but eligibility is narrow, so check the university and nationality lists on the official page before planning around it.

Nomad visas that do exist nearby and further afield

The UAE's Virtual Work Residence Visa asks for USD 3,500/mo (≈ $42,000/yr), costs $300 and lasts 1 year. Spain's Digital Nomad Visa asks for EUR 34,188/yr (≈ $37,504/yr). Both are written for people employed by a company outside the country.

If you want to stay in Southeast Asia, Thailand's Destination Thailand Visa costs $335 and is valid for 5 years. For Europe, the Germany digital nomad guide compares the options there.

Who sponsors digital nomads in Singapore

There is nothing to sponsor on a nomad set-up. If you would consider a Singapore employer instead, the Singapore software engineer guide explains the Employment Pass, which is how most foreign professionals live there.

The Transita sponsor register collects the official sponsor lists we hold, so you can check an employer before you apply.
